Urban-Sounds
Who hasn’t been reminded of something by a song? Not only art o photograpgy can make you think of feeling related to something so real as a city, but at the same time so abstract.
To me this happens when I listen to this Jamie Woon‘s song, Street, from his CD Mirrorwriting. The songs title is already talking about cities, but the lyrics describe a personal relations when wandering through the city. I love listening to it when walking through a huge city.
Walking and walking
thinkinf on my feet
Anything can happen in the city but you
Can’t sit down
Building to Building
Shelt’ring from the sky
Knowing there’s somebody in this street
Wo could change my life
You can try on anything for free
Pick up anything you need
And I’m wishing you were here with me
Walking on the city street
Window to Window
Filling in the hours
Catching my reflection in a place I’ve
Never been before
Crossing the bridges
Leap the river-wide
Knowing that time I’ll arrive on the
Other Side
You can on anything for free
Pick up anything you need
And I’m wishing you wwere here with me
Walking on a city street.
